Smashin' Fashion

Park Manor South

Babo's back baby! We started BLEUDENIM simply taking pictures around our campus, but many of our recent posts have been taken on trips to New York and Paris. We're happy to say that we found a gem on campus today to share.

The leather bag matched with the shoes is decidedly dapper and the unstructured blazer, cardigan and scarves seem like soft and snuggly ways to chill bones on a brisk day. Look past the effortless look so you don't miss the attention to detail in his earring and under-collar.

A Night At The Theatre

Théâtre des Champs-Élysées

To some extent these two outfits are relatively similar, while each offering their fair share of unique style.  The jeans have a rather similar wash and up top there is a mixture of dark coats and chunky scarves.  Messenger bags over each of their shoulders like matching school children.  It seems like maybe only the shoes are different...but at the same time they each sport a distinct look.  What's even better is that they were only feet away from a pair of skinny fit chaps who were rocking a completely different look.

Sharing Straps

The matching this couple had going on was really cool...if only they weren't too fast for me to get some photos of the front.  An extra pair of suspenders on her might have been over the top, but the black on top bleudenim on the bottom with a chunky of pair of kicks is a really cool look.  Plus, you have to respect that they each carry a wallet chain and each seem to rock the skinny fit pretty well.

Skinny Fit

Théatre des Champs-Elysées

Each of these gentleman have a perfectly tailored slim fit look going on.  The right tailor can make your pants look more like a second layer of skin, and you should always feel good in the skin you're in.

On The Lookout

École des Beaux-Arts

This guy seems to have that perfect amount of inner swag.  The moccasins prove that comfortable footwear should always be unisex.  Skinny jeans for comfort and mobility.  And most importantly the Moleskine to keep that idea generation flowing.

Mr. Saxobeat

Marché Boulevard Raspail 6ème arrondissement

It's not just the glasses that give this genie away as an artist. The composition of this entire outfit is clearly creative and appreciably unique.

The tartan top and army green scarf add a chunky punk look to the ensemble, but that's about the most you can say about theme. But then that crispy coat covers with a more put-together feel, which allows him to pull off those spiffy shoes. I wish we could introduce this fancy Frenchman to our friend Jake. I feel like they'd get along.

Brown All Around

École des Beaux-Arts

It's cool to see how the all of the brown plays off of itself in this one.

Sneaky Smirks

That smile tells me this guy is up to something.  Blue and black isn't normally a combination I am very fond of, but this outfit proves otherwise.

Buttons all the way to the top just add more edge to this rather serious look...

A little bit of extra color is always necessary...maybe these red socks are what he's trying to be so sneaky about.

Round 2...Still Rockin' The Roll

Even though this outfit is so simple, it still speaks volumes. From the top down there is style written all over. Chunky would be a good word to describe most of the components; the extra thick cuff on the jeans, a slightly over-sized but seemingly comfortable chesterfield, and between the poofy bangs & collar tie I'm not sure there is room for much more...job well done.

La simplicité du chic

Nothing out of the ordinary in this one; just a bit of bleudenim, a cashmere for some extra warmth, and that timeless elegance we do so love.  This is what the simplicity of chic is all about.

Rockin' The Roll

So we finally made it back to Paris...of course it would have been just after fashion week.

Great mixture of cool blues, with a splash of white and brown.

Some people just go for one or two rolls, this guy went for a chunky cuff.

Too Right Feet

Here is a weekend post to keep you on your heels, with pictures of some serious studs.

I'll be frank, even though I'm a guy, I dig dope heels. I liked these because they follow the stud trend but in an interesting way an on an interesting color backdrop (read: not black for once!). Also the studs are small and in the back only, so they're not Gaga-style overkill.

Here, I liked the gold on the bags that goes along with the golden heels and buckles. Just wish you could see these chunky heels from the side. We were in a huge rush the day this was taken and the resulting picture doesn't do them justice.

Still though, somebody needs to tell this lady she shouldn't be carrying a navy bag with a black outfit. I mean, c'mon.

What's In Your Sack?

So you've picked out your jeans and kicks for the day...now for the right bag.  Not only does it need to flow well with the rest of the outfit but you also need a bag that offers enough storage and portability.  Check out these choices starting with a nice collaboration of brown and bleudenim...

The look of the basic gym bag might seem a little plain but this one goes well with these rock star boots...

Finally a bit of fur to warm things up...

Where to Next?

A few things about this picture strike me as interesting.  Hesitancy to cross the street when no traffic is coming...as well as her rather distracted stance, just pick a direction and go with the flow.  More noteworthy is the combination of super chunky hat and scarf...that extra bit of fluff on a cold morning.  I also like the subtle way she combines couture and combat...those boots are great.
