Too Right Feet

Here is a weekend post to keep you on your heels, with pictures of some serious studs.

I'll be frank, even though I'm a guy, I dig dope heels. I liked these because they follow the stud trend but in an interesting way an on an interesting color backdrop (read: not black for once!). Also the studs are small and in the back only, so they're not Gaga-style overkill.

Here, I liked the gold on the bags that goes along with the golden heels and buckles. Just wish you could see these chunky heels from the side. We were in a huge rush the day this was taken and the resulting picture doesn't do them justice.

Still though, somebody needs to tell this lady she shouldn't be carrying a navy bag with a black outfit. I mean, c'mon.

Where to Next?

A few things about this picture strike me as interesting.  Hesitancy to cross the street when no traffic is coming...as well as her rather distracted stance, just pick a direction and go with the flow.  More noteworthy is the combination of super chunky hat and scarf...that extra bit of fluff on a cold morning.  I also like the subtle way she combines couture and combat...those boots are great.

More Than Just Sick Shoes...

These purple monsters have already seemed to make their way to the web, but we wanted to pay our respects to the everything going on above his sock line.

Admittedly so, the shoes are great and the socks potentially better.  But this outfit is sick from head to toe.  Check out the layering, the details, the colors, the everything!

Time Warner Center Street Fashion
Check out that chunky watch and the classic denim jacket.
A bow tie to top it all off!

Cool frames, a great bow tie, classic denim jacket: this ensemble has it all...even the perfect amount of swag.  This is just a fine example of how BLEUDENIM appreciates the under-appreciated.

NYC Fashion Week Spring 2011: Here's Looking At You

Spring 2011 was our first time together at New York's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Given our short time together there we decided not to go to any shows and just photograph people out front of Lincoln Center on the Josie Robertson Plaza. Personally, after hearing about shows like Perry Ellis from our champs on the street and seeing pictures online, I kinda maybe somewhat regretted not having taken the opportunity to go to shows. But that's the great thing about the occasion, there's always next season!

As it was Fashion Week, we saw a lot of things that we wouldn't necessarily put on BLEUDENIM on their own, but thought that we could still give our angle on some of the crazy outfits we saw (pun intended).

More shenanigans after the jump.

Patterns: The More The Merrier

A lot of what I noticed during fashion week was about excess...excessive jewelry, excessive colors, excessive layering. Here's a utilization of excessive in a way that does not scream overdone. The pattern inside the jacket is carried over to the collar, the skinny tie with a simple pattern, and the great bag that offers such a pop of color.

A Gentleman Gets Dressed

Black Fleece Collection Fall 2011

The blazer is one of the most essential garments every real gentleman has and cherishes. With jeans or trousers it's a quick way to dress up your style. Now...a new take on the timeless classic.

Red and blue are my two favorite colors to begin with...so these ties are that much better. The mix of thin and thick lines on these ties really makes them stand out.

Formal wear has never looked as cool as this black tie ensemble. The details on this tuxedo are just too many to list...enjoy!

It's good to see that Brooks Brothers and Thom Browne are still in collaboration together creating looks like these.

Let The Sun Shine

Colorful pants are such an easy way to warm up on a cold morning...

Sometimes it's never too cold for iced coffee though.  A tip of the hat to this guy who knows how to dress his age while still keeping it real.

All Tied Up

Ever wonder what possible use you could have for that extra rope lying around...

Neckties have been an important accessory for gentleman since the 1600's when the French coined the term "cravat".

I'm not sure that the use of the words necktie or cravat can really do this one any justice, but this new concept for a knotted neckerchief is one that I hope can join the club.

Mac Daddy

Tucked Away

Location: Chelsea, NYC

The color choices throughout this entire outfit are really great.  Warm winter colors that each pop in their own regard.  The seemingly short green duffel coat is a new concept for me, but the tailored look goes great with these very well fitting trousers.  Not only is the fit on these pants perfect, but it's good to see wool worn so well below the waist.  Rounded off with a classic pair of desert boots, it's simple enough to say that this outfit works.

My favorite portion of the entire outfit however, is this little pocket tucked away behind the lapel of his duffel coat.  A not so average place for a pocket on a sweater, it adds that extra amount of detail and discreteness that style is all about.

The Fashion Police: Move Aside Joan

Fashion was out in full force during this year's Fall 2011 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.  New styles and concepts and most importantly more BLEUDENIM to come.
